TRAC & PUBLIC ADVOCATE GREEN TO RELEASE FIRST-EVER NYC PHONE

SERVICE COMPARISON SHOPPING GUIDE



NYC Public Advocate Mark Green will join the Telecommunications Research & Action Center (TRAC) at a press conference in releasing the TRAC's first comparison survey of local phone service options for NYC residents:

TRAC's TeleTips guide tells consumers how much they should expect to pay with each provider for minimal, light, average and heavy telephone users. The guide is broken down further by when the user typically makes calls - day, evening and/or weekend. Consumers will be able to use the guide to achieve substantial savings by shopping around for the best calling plan.

AT&T announced last week that it has entered the New York City local residential phone service market.

TRAC is a non-profit membership consumer organization based in Washington D.C. It researches telecommunication issues and has published rate comparisons of long-distance carriers since 1984
